Re-Use Milk Cartons To Make Ice Bricks ! To Keep Your Food Cold !

Reduce,Re-use, Recycle !
We use UHT Long life milk and I'm always thinking how I can reuse the containers !
Here is another great recycling idea..When you have finished the milk, give the carton a good rinse out and refill with water, leave an inch at the top ..to allow for expansion when water freezes...Then pop them into your freezer and you'll have plenty of ice bricks to use when you and your family go on picnics, BBQ's etc..
These are also great to use when you go shopping and buy frozen foods to keep them cold on your way home in a cooler bag..Also in the hot weather you'll have plenty of water, when you're out .. if you are thirsty and also if you need any water for clean ups..These are also great to store in your freezer, as a freezer uses more electricity if its empty ...I'm always rethinking how to recycle and re-use things..Has any one got any other ideas of reusing these milk cartons..You could cut the tops off and use them to grow seedlings ..I've also used them to make gift tags..if you do please share..

Hemp Seed Tabouli..

Hemp Seed Tabouli.
Today I made hemp seed Tabouli..
Here is my recipe ..

¾ cup hemp seeds
1 Medium cucumber
½ cup lemon juice and zest from 1 lemon
½  medium red onion
1 cup finely chopped parsley
1 tablespoon hemp seed oil
½ teaspoon celtic salt
2 medium tomatoes.
Mix well together and serve ..
We will be having this for dinner tonight with free range chicken thighs, sauteed onions and zucchinis..

Apricot,Sunflower Seed,Coconut & Hemp Seed Slice !

 
Apricot,Sunflower Seed,Coconut & Hemp Seed Slice !
I made this slice a few weeks ago but I used almonds, This recipe I used sunflower seeds which are great if making for any one with a nut allergy and a few weeks ago I purchased hemp seeds and hemp oil so I also added 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds..and its just as delicious as my last recipe..
While pressing the base mixture into the lined tin, I had a thought, that with the mixture I could make a raw carrot cake..So when I've made it I'll post the recipe it would be lovely with this tangy topping..

 Apricot,Coconut & Hemp Seed Slice !
I made this yesterday its so delicious and raw and healthy and Paleo ..perfect..
And did I mention delicious...
Here is the recipe...
2 cups dried apricots ..sulphur free
2 cups raw sunflower seeds.
2 tablespoons of hemp seeds.
1 cup of desiccated coconut..
 1 tablespoon coconut oil.
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. 
1/2 tablespoon of lemon zest.
pinch of celtic salt
 I put all above ingredients into my food processor and processed until well combined, slightly sticky and crumbly, then I pressed it into my 9 inch square cake tin lined .. I lined it with a plastic grocery bag cut in half ..and then layered each piece across the tin one way then the other...then I put it in the freezer for a few hours ..

Tangy lemon topping..
1/2 cup of sunflower seeds( soak for a few hours)
2 tablespoons of coconut oil.
2 tablespoons of honey. 
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice.
1/2  tablespoon of lemon zest.
 process till smooth and creamy ..then poor over the top ..t\This mixture was quite thick so to thin it just add a little more liquid or lemon juice ...The sunflower seeds when soaked swell up..
